It is an annoying period of weather when many in the region need rainfall, only to find it pounding down in regions where it is normally DRY! While that is a good sign for the rainfall to return in the months ahead through the remainder of the growing season into early Spring, it is cold comfort right now as we sit in sinking air motion.
The overall pattern will likely remain settled through to about this time next week I am afraid. I was hoping that a front coming through WA may have enough strength to knock the upper low out to the east but sadly, that upper low over QLD will hold on and block the westerly wind belt through mid-week so no change in the pattern until later next week.
That is when we start to see moisture streaming out of WA and frontal weather standing up a bit more.
For now, here is your 10-day rainfall outlook, and unfortunately, below average rainfall continues for a while
But temperatures could remain below average for a while near a cold cored high-pressure system with drier air at the surface too, so frosts may return as a problem in the days ahead.
