The severe weather threat is over for the east of the state with the trough lifting offshore, the forward motion a little quicker today leading to a quicker clearance but after multiple tornadoes throughout the state and southeast generally and heavy hail and rainfall, the weather is expected is settling.

Residual garden variety showers and thunder tonight will decrease over the southern and southeast inland. Showers easing during Saturday with the heights coming up and the winds easing.

Sunday we have to watch out for frost over parts of the inland before the weather warms up into early next week.

Now points to watch next week will be showers developing over the east of NSW with onshore winds redeveloping. The weather over inland areas mild to warm and mostly dry ahead of showers and thunderstorms developing in the back half of the week as the next pressure trough moves into the state and taps into lingering moisture over the region thanks to those ongoing easterly winds.

Rainfall Next 10 days

Rainfall is decreasing overall, with the cold upper levels starting to warm over the next 24hrs with skies clearing over the course of the weekend. The weather then turns showery along the east coast as the winds veer easterly, that will help to inject moisture over the inland but for now the upper air is stable. No rainfall expected until Thursday onwards for the state as we track a trough passing through from SA. That will fire off showers and thunderstorms from late next week into next weekend with more of those hit and miss showers and thunderstorms across the state.

Frost Forecast Sunday

Clear skies and light winds coupled with a colder than normal upper atmosphere with dry air, all coming together to produce light frost in some inland locations.
