MID AUGUST LOOKING HUMID AND WETTER ON THE LATEST GUIDE

A quick update before tomorrows climate information

The moisture seems to be building up for the second half of the month which is expected. The moisture values are exceeding the average by several hundred percentage points over vast areas of the northwest and north which will be drawn southeast eventually with frontal weather approaching the southern states.

Precipitable Water Anomalies for the next 2 weeks.

Note the blue and grey shading spreading throughout the north and the west over the second half of the month. That is PW anomalies at 200-300% above normal.

State of play for the end of the sequence - August 18th.

The charts will not reflect this, but it is SIGNALING that there is moisture building in the medium term, as per the longer term forecasts here for August, the month becomes wetter as we go.

I will have fresh updates after 6am tomorrow. Climate update due out between 12-1pm EST.
