Widespread cloud and patchy light rain are spreading throughout the eastern inland of the nation this afternoon with mainly light falls so far.
But as the moisture is spread throughout the southeast and eastern inland is expected to increase as a cold front move into the southeast inland later this afternoon. This will see more robust rainfall developing later today and into the overnight hours, clearing east Saturday.
At this time rainfall is forecast to be moderate over parts of northern NSW and over southern QLD, with the higher rainfall forecast along and to the west of the Dividing Range and extending northwards over the border north to areas over the Southern Wide Bay.
Rainfall extending inland northwest back into the eastern NT with moderate falls under a thin band of cloud.
Everything should clear by Saturday morning but there are indications another band of rain may develop again on Sunday, but impacting areas further north of NSW through southern QLD at this time, but will watch closely.
Areas over the southeast, rainfall is expected to increase from Saturday with a post on that to come.
