EAST COAST LOW RISK THIS WEEKEND EASES, BUT WE COULD HAVE PROBLEM WEATHER FOR NORTHERN NSW THURSDAY

The east coast low potential this weekend has decreased which is great news with the indications being that an open wave of low pressure will pass through at this time, with no evidence of low pressure other than the broader circulation sitting nearer NZ.

Still looking cold and showery through the southeast states and big seas for the NSW coast but overall, the pattern is looking more relaxed than last night for the weekend.

BUT before then we may have another low-pressure system form within the trough offshore the Mid North of Northern Rivers coast. This could provide a brief period of damaging winds and heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding.

This will be explored more this evening in the state-based forecasts but important to flag it now as a system of interest for the region.
