Saturated catchments following significant rainfall during the past week in the nation's southeast pose a great threat. A bit like a dry forest ahead of bushfire season, this is primed for the flooding, the catchments cannot take any rainfall. If the forecast rainfall below verifies, major river systems will be in a long duration flood pattern.
