A HEADS UP FOR SEVERE FROST AND A FREEZE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT THURSDAY MORNING.

This is for areas of southern and central inland QLD, much of inland NSW, the ACT and inland VIC.

Temperature Anomalies - Wednesday night into Thursday morning, up to 6C below average! That is conservative and the atmosphere could support a big freeze for parts of the east.

Temperatures could be widespread below <-5C across the Great Dividing Range from Tenterfield through to the Alpine Range in VIC. Temperatures down as low as -4C for parts of slopes and plains.

Some areas over higher ground in the usual frosty spots could get down to -10C, that would be Cooma, Canberra, Goulburn and Braidwood regions. Also up along the Northern Tablelands as well.

It is some ways off but it is a heads up forecast as this time of weather can cause damage.

More to come.
